NJSO gives the youngsters a chance to study with top professionals and to have invaluable experience of playing in a full symphony orchestra. The first artistic director of this educational project is conductor Jukka-Pekka Saraste.  The climax of the orchestra's season is a concert, which are held after section camps and rehearsal sessions. The orchestra consists of 80 players and has been attended by over 300 young musicians aged 12-30. Orchestra's website
