musiikillisia kohtaamisia merten yli (Tonal bridge - musical meetings across
the seas). Already the first concert, an HD-quality broadcast, was realizing
the main goals of the project, namely to increase social connectivity and
availability. For example, at the Rokua Rehabilitation Center a large number of
music lovers attended the concert, which was made available by a laptop, a
video projector and a silver screen.
The concert was viewable at both full HD-quality and webcast quality (500
kbps). It was done in cooperation with Turku Adult Education Center. The
cameras were directed by Jari Kivimäki. Ilmari Mäenpää of E-concerthouse was in
charge of overall production.
Next concert by TPO will be on friday, the 3rd of September, 2010. The
orchestra will perform the Violin Concerto by Jean Sibelius with violinist Ilja
Gringolts as soloist. The orchestra will be conducted by Pietari Inkinen. The
concerts (and other cultural programs they may be combined with) will be made
available for viewing without charge.
TFO TO UTILISE E-CONCERTHOUSE TECHNOLOGY
The
traditional concert activities of The Turku Philharmonic enter new dimensions
as the orchestra introduces its web concerts in the spring of 2010 in
cooperation with Turun Aikuiskoulutuskeskus and E-Concerthouse.
The new webconcerts are a part of the Cultural Capital 2011 project. In
addition to traditional concerts the audience has access to symphony and
chamber concerts at home via PC or mobile phone. The idea is not to dismiss
traditional concerts, only to complement them. New channels also help reach new
audience.
E-concerthouse is one of the proud cooperators. Lighting and sound engineer
Eerik Hovi is also involved in the project. He is the principal light &
sound engineer at Turku concert hall.

YAM young artist
management arranged the first E-audition in order to find new and interesting
artists under its wings.
The broadcast was
successful and no technical problems were experienced. Several music institutes
searching for vocalists for their coming season viewed the auditions on the
internet. E-auditions will continue with special emphasis on creating job
contracts abroad.
An artist’s success does not depend on talent alone. This we know. Todays musician and singer have to meet to the growing demands of a
world-wide music industry in order to survive. I want to help my fellow
artists and young colleagues to succeed in their profession without
having to compromise themselves on any level. This is why I
have established a new partnership with Minna
Pentti and Fantastico music Oy.
